Jamshedpur: A delegation of Contractors Welfare Association met the deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum Dr Amitabh Kaushal on Thursday to demand reimbursement of the penalty amount deducted from the billing amount of government contractors.
The outfit members said they were facing hard times due to ban on mining of stone and sand.
They said the problems in land acquisition and getting forest land clearance were also causing problems to them in completing their work.
They threatened to stop construction work in case their demands were not fulfilled.
The outfit members present during the meeting with the DC included Abhay Kumar Singh, Madhusudan Singh and Jayant Kumar.
