US national found dead in hotel

Ranchi: A US national identified as Paul Marshal was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Hotel Blue Radisson in the state Capital on Thursday, police said.

The body of the 67 year old man was found in his hotel room this morning. He had arrived in Ranchi in connection with missionary work on 9th July last. He was lodged in the room number 209.

Sources said the hotel authorities informed police about the incident after they failed to get an answer to frequent calls at the door. Police opened the door and found Marshal in an unconscious state. Doctors were soon called. They pronounced the man dead.

District administration ordered the director of Rajendra Institute of Medical Science to set up a medical board to perform the autopsy.

Cops confiscated the belongings of the deceased from his room and began an investigation into the incident. The hotel authorities refused to talk on the issue saying a probe was on into the death.
