Jamshedpur: The contract workers of JRDCL, a road construction company, stalled all work to go on strike on Thursday to demand salary dues of last two months. The cleaning work on the Adityapur-Kandra main road was affected in the impact.
The protestors alleged that the salaries of around 50 workers employed by a petty contractor of the company were not disbursed regularly.
They also alleged that the workers were not given ESI and PF cards despite deductions from their salaries. They said they were unable to avail the treatment benefits at the ESI Hospital. They said their families were on the verge of starvation due to pending salaries.
Sources said the contractor Rajesh Singh had assured the workers of payment by Friday.
