Congress protest caning of media persons

Jamshedpur: The local Congress leaders this afternoon burnt the effigy of chief minister Raghubar Das at Shaheed Chowk in Sakchi in protest against police caning of para-teachers and scribes during the Foundation Day function at Morhabadi Ground in Ranchi. The protesters were led by state Youth Congress Committee secretary Rakesh Sahu.

West Vidhan Sabha Congress in-charge Akhilesh Singh and senior vice president Dharmendra Prasad and all the other Congress protesters criticized the attack on para-teachers and scribes and squarely blamed the chief minister for the act.
Contending that the police baton charge was unfortunate, Youth Congress leader Rakesh Sahu said that the attack on scribes happened when they were on duty to cover the Foundation Day program.

The Congress led protesters included Arun Mukhi,Manju Das, Punita Chaudhary, Manoj Sao, Amar Mishra, Bunty Singh Rajput, Kamlesh Sao, Sonu Singh, Bindiya Mukhi, Monika Mukhi and Sita Ram Chaudhary.
