Minority Commission Pushes for Early Resumption of Jugsalai Jain Temple Reconstruction

Jamshedpur: The Jharkhand State Minority Commission has stepped in to expedite the long-pending reconstruction of the historic Jain temple at Jugsalai. Vice Chairman of the commission, Jyoti Singh Matharu, on Thursday inspected the under-construction temple on M.E. School Road in Jugsalai and directed the district administration to remove all obstacles delaying the work and ensure its early completion.

The nearly 70-year-old Jain temple is undergoing reconstruction, but progress has remained stalled due to a dispute involving local residents. Taking cognisance of the issue, Matharu reviewed the situation on the ground and sought immediate administrative intervention.

After the inspection, the Vice Chairman held a meeting with senior officials, including the Sub-Divisional Officer, District Welfare Officer, Circle Officer, and the officer-in-charge of Jugsalai Police Station. He instructed them to thoroughly examine all documents related to the dispute and take prompt, lawful steps to resolve the matter so that construction can resume without further delay.

Officials assured the Commission that a joint meeting with all concerned parties would be convened at the earliest to find an amicable solution and clear the way for uninterrupted reconstruction.

Members of the Shwetambar Murtipujak Jain Sangh and prominent representatives of the Jain community were present during the meeting and expressed optimism that the intervention would lead to a swift resolution.

The visit and firm directions from the Minority Commission have raised fresh hopes among the Jain community in Jamshedpur that the long-delayed reconstruction of the historic Jugsalai Jain Temple will now progress smoothly and reach completion at the earliest.
