Congress promoting corruption in Jharkhand : Amit Shah

Jamshedpur: BJP national president Amit Shah on Monday said Congress party is involved in promoting corruption in Jharkhand. He urged voters to be cautious against the “unholy” alliance of Congress-RJD-JD(U).

“Jharkhand witnessed a scam of Rs 4000 crore, during the MadhuKoda-led government, was not possible to happen without the support of the Congress,” Shah said while addressing an election rally here. Shah said they had looted the state in the past and again ganged up with sole motive to grab power in the mineral-rich state and loot its minerals.

People should take guard against such alliance, he said.

He went on to add that money from auction of Jharkhand-located coal blocks will be used into the state for promoting development projects.

Addressing a gathering of over 3000 people at Kata Maidan in industrial town of Adityapur in Seraikela assembly constituency, Shah said prime minister NarendraModi has promised to ensure development of the State.

Jharkhand is rich in minerals but gets very less royalty from its coal reserves but the central government has decided to utilise 2.5 lakh crore (out of Jharkhands coal block auction) for developing infrastructure here, he announced.

Shah added Jharkhand was a rich state but its people were poor. Money from coal block auction will pave way for the quality of life of people of this mineral-rich state which needs good roads, industries, electricity and quality education. he stated.

Attacking the Congress, Shah added BJP will not allot coal blocks to kins of political leaders but would auction them for the benefit of Jharkhand.

Besides corruption, political instability was another major factor for the poor condition of the state and Congress was responsible for it.

Congress destabilised the majority of the governments in the 14 years of its creation for its own interest, he said.

He lashed the Congress saying the party’s “greed for power” led to the political instability in Jharkhand. He also expressed concerns over the present political scenario in the State.
