Congress politicking over Farm Bills: Ganesh Mahali

Mail News Service

Saraikela, Dec 1:  Senior BJP leader Ganesh Mahali lashed out at the Congress stating that the party was politicking on the issue of Farm Bills which he said were designed to uplift the socio-economic status of farmers and provide them autonomy on preferred sales outlets. Mahali said that the Modi government was providing Rs 6,000 per annum to farmers for purchase of seeds and manure. During the BJP state rule, farmers were being given Rs 5,000 per acre for cultivation but with the JMM-Congress government taking over the Krishi Ashirwad Yojna had been discontinued.

Ganesh Mahali said, “The Krishi Ashirwad Yojna was turning out to be a blessing for the farmers but this could not be digested by the state government partner, the Congress. The Congress national president, during the Assembly poll campaigns had announced from every platform that once their government came into power in the state, the loans of farmers would be waived and MSP would be raised to Rs 2,500. But it is almost one year now since the present Jharkhand government’s formation but neither the farmers’ loans have been waived nor has the MSP for their products been fixed at Rs 2,500. The Congress, while clinging on to a straw is engaging in politics over the Centre’s Farm Bills.”
