Jamshedpur, Dec 1: A programme was organized at the Purunia Football Ground where Meera Munda, wife of central Minister for Adivasi Welfare Arjun Munda was the keynote speaker on Women’s Empowerment. Ahe also gave away blankets to poor, helpless and elderly persons on the occasion.
In her address Meera Munda said that the central government was very much aware of the need for women’s empowerment and was seriously working on it. She said, “The central government is committed towards women’s empowerment and has come up with several training schemes which are work oriented so that women can be self dependent economically and contribute towards the family coffers. Moreover, the Centre is determined that women live with heads held high.”
Meera Munda stressed that health was a prime area of concern where women too have to cooperate. “In these COVID times, women have to take all necessary protective measures for themselves and their families. Training on health care is also being organized at various administrative levels with support from women NGOs. Health awareness is of utmost importance. Women’s empowerment and awareness is one of the prime objectives of the government.” Those present on the occasion included former BJP district president Ramnath Mahto, party’s district vice president Siddheshwar Banra, Zila Parishad member Sangi Banra, parliamentarian’s representative Sano Gope, party’s block president Sudama Haiburu, Ruidih Panchayat Mukhiya Narayan Banra, Kokil Kesri, Mangta Gope, Jhanda Haiburu, Mohan Banra, Sonaram Kumhar, Aryan Gope, Binder Dorai and many other BJP members.
