NIA raids PLFI stronghold in Bihar: Weapons, documents, and suspect seized

Patna: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out extensive raids on Friday targeting the People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) in four states, including Bihar. The operation focused on the residence of Pramod Pandey in the village of Barni, situated in the Dhanrua police station area of Patna district. During the raid, Pramod Pandey’s son, Sonu Pandey, was taken into custody by the NIA team, leading to his subsequent arrest.

The meticulous four-hour-long operation resulted in the recovery of two illegal weapons, incriminating equipment, numerous documents, cash, jewelry, and even an Indian Army uniform. The NIA team seized these items as part of their investigation into alleged financing of terrorist activities through extortion by PLFI cadres. The case, registered on October 11, 2023, prompted the NIA to gather information and execute raids after formulating a strategic plan.

The NIA team, under the leadership of DSP Mahendra Singh Rana, conducted the operation in Bihar, focusing on dismantling the financial networks supporting terrorist activities. Sonu Pandey, now in NIA custody, is expected to provide valuable information as the investigation unfolds.
