PATNA, Feb 3: A 17-year-old son of Congress MLA Shakeel Ahmad Khan allegedly committed suicide at his father’s MLA flat in the state capital, police said on Monday.
The minor was studying in class 12 of a reputable school was found hanging from the ceiling fan in his room at MLA flat early Monday morning.
The police and forensics team arrived on the scene but no suicide note has been found yet. Patna senior superintendent of police (SSP) Awkash Kumar told a section of media persons, “Senior officials along with forensic experts have reached the spot and are collecting scientific evidence. The matter is being investigated from all angles.”
The body had been sent for a post-mortem examination and the exact cause of death was yet to be determined, he added.
The Congress leader, whose son passed away, was in Ahmedabad at the time of the tragic incident.
Taking to a post on X, Bihar congress chief Akhilesh Prasad Singh, expressed his deep shock and anguish over the incident. “May God give strength to his family in this hour of grief and grant peace to the departed soul,” said Singh in his post.
