Congress leader meets Nitish Kumar amidst seat sharing turmoil in Bihar

Patna: The political landscape in Bihar is witnessing a rapid escalation of tensions, particularly concerning seat sharing among the allies of the Indian National Democratic Alliance (I.N.D.I.A). In the midst of this, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who recently assumed the presidency of the JDU, made his first visit to the party office, receiving a warm welcome.

Amidst the ongoing discussions on seat allocation within the alliance, Congress state president Akhilesh Prasad Singh held a crucial meeting with Nitish Kumar to address the pressing matter of seat sharing. The seat-sharing process within the Indian alliance has gained momentum, but discontent looms among some parties over the distribution of seats.

In a recent alliance meeting held in Delhi, where 27 parties participated, the issue of seat sharing was brought to the forefront. However, a conclusive decision has yet to be reached, leading to discontent among certain parties. Responding to this, Lalu Yadav made a cryptic statement, suggesting that seat sharing does not happen hastily.

The meeting between Congress and JDU took place at CM Nitish Kumar’s residence, with Congress leaders Akhilesh Prasad Singh and Shakeel Ahmed Khan in attendance, alongside JDU ministers Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and Sanjay Jha. Discussions revolved around the intricacies of seat sharing. Nitish Kumar, commenting on Lalu Yadav’s reservations, emphasized the need for a thorough and considered decision rather than a rushed one.
Notably, Nitish Kumar’s visit to the party office marked his first since assuming the national presidency of the JDU. The discussions encompassed strategies for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, with meetings held with district presidents of the party, including Bihar Finance Minister Vijay Chaudhary. Despite showing support, Lalu Yadav remains firm on the issue of seat sharing, adding a layer of complexity to the political dynamics in Bihar.
