Congress demands civic amenities for 123 bustis

Jamshedpur: District Congress committee members today met the deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum and raised various issues related to civic amenities in the various localities of the city besides demanding rights for panchayats.

Leading the agitation, the outfit convenor Vijay Yadav said the district administration should provide all the basic civic amenities to the people residing in the 123 bustis of the city. He further said that the traffic problem should be solved by building flyovers in the city.

�There are myriads of problems being faced by the people of this city. They have to go through an ordeal everyday due to a faulty traffic system in the city. The administration should take an initiative and build flyovers and also divert the route of heavy vehicles through the Marine Drive Road to prevent road accidents and traffic jams in the main city areas,� said Yadav.

The Congress leaders also pointed out the health care problems in the district. They said the condition of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital should be improved through better infrastructure, recruitment of more staff and adequate supply of medicines to the hospital.

The delegation members said pipelines should be laid in the various localities under the Moharda water supply project without delay. They also raised issues related to farmers, students, teachers and poor people.
