Chaibasa, May 19: In the West Singhbhum district, a new development came to the fore on Friday amidst the continuing upheaval between Congress and JMM.
The Congress office bearers of Chaibasa Sadar Vidhansabha held a meeting on Friday on the present political scenario and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, the ally under the Grand Alliance, on their claim on the Singhbhum Parliamentary Lok Sabha seat and making personal fabricated allegations on the working style of MP Geeta Koda.
The Congress activists expressed his views and conveyed his feelings to MP Co-State Congress Executive President Geeta Koda strongly reacted to the baseless personal allegations on the working style of MP Geeta Koda, leveling by the MLAs of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and disregarding the Mahagathbandhan dharma.
Chaibasa Sadar assembly level officials said that it was due to the grand alliance of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and Congress that MP Geeta Koda could win in Singhbhum parliamentary constituency with a huge majority. On the other hand, it was possible for the MLAs of the grand alliance to win in all the five assembly constituencies of West Singhbhum district due to the cooperation of the Congress workers.
Keeping in mind the increasing popularity of the Congress party and the sentiments of the workers and the people of the area, MP cum State Congress Executive President Geeta Koda demands that Chaibasa and Mazgaon assembly constituencies where 91678 votes from Chaibasa Sadar assembly respectively at the time of Loksabha parliamentary elections. And Congress party got 88418 votes from Majhgaon Assembly under Grand Alliance.
On the other hand, in the assembly elections, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha MLAs got only 69485 votes in Sadar Vidhansabha and 67750 votes in Majhgaon Vidhansabha.
The MLAs of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha got less votes as compared to Congress MP in their respective Vidhan Sabha. Keeping in mind the sentiments of the Congress workers, at least the Sadar Assembly Chaibasa seat should come in the account of the Congress under the Grand Alliance. They said that Sadar Vidhansabha Chaibasa has been the traditional seat of Congress. In the past too, Late Bagun Sumbrui was elected four times as a member of the Legislative Assembly “Bihar, Jharkhand”.
