Jharkhand Shanti Yagna at Jugsalai Shani Mandir

Jamshedpur, May 19: Jharkhand Shani Shanti Yagna (Havan) was performed on Friday, May 19 under the guidance of Damodar Shani Baba at Shani Dev Mandir onm Satyanarayan Mandir Road, near Jugsalai Dukhu Market.

Being the auspicious occasion of Amavasya, Navgrah prayers and Havan rituals commenced from 7 am and continued till 6 pm. Elite citizens of the city performed Hawan between 5 pm and 6 pm. Prasad (consecrated food) was distributed among more than 4,000 devotees present during the prayers from 11 am to 5 pm.

The prayers were performed by 11 priests headed by Pandits Gyani Sharma and Ashok Sharma. Thousands of devotees participated in this program throughout the day and took the blessings of Shani Baba.

The four hour programme of bhajan renditions by popular singer Prem Agarwal and his team commenced at 7 pm. The large number of devotees was religiously swayed by the renditions in tribute to Surya Putra Shani Ji Maharaj and soon they were dancing to the rhythm of the bhajans. Former MLAs Menka Sardar and Kunal Shadangi along with social workers Sudipto De Rana, Rajesh Mengotia (Laddu), Manoj Puria, Arvind Mishra (Babbu), Vimal Agarwal, Vishnu Sonkar, Deepak Haldia and other devotees participated as guests on this occasion. All the guests were honored with turbans and scarves. As part of rituals in prayer to Shani Ji Maharaj, the guests and devotees anointed the deity with oil and sought His blessings. Mahant Damodar Baba, Gyani Sharma, Ashok Sharma, Soni Sharma and Dharmendra Sharma played major roles in organizing the entire Jharkhand Shani Shanti Yagna event.

Jamshedpur, May 19:   On the auspicious occasion of Amavasya, on Friday, May 19, prayers were offered to Shanidev Maharaj at Rajak Mohalla Shani Mandir behind Jugsalai Girls’ School. Navgrah prayers were performed and devotees poured in throughout the day. They bathed the Lord with oil as part of the rituals and sought His blessings. Prayers commenced at 7 am. Recitation of Shani Ji Path commenced from 9 am on the occasion of Shri Shanidev Maharaj Jayanti. Priest Pandit ram Kishore Bhargava performed the prayers and distributed the consecrated food (Prasad) among the devotees present.
