Jamshedpur: Ichagarh MLA Savita Mahato raised concerns in the Jharkhand Assembly regarding the incomplete rehabilitation of people displaced by the construction of the Chandil Dam. While 22 rehabilitation sites were identified, only 13 have been partially developed. Villages like Makula, Situ and Ghagari remain undeveloped, leaving displaced residents without proper rehabilitation.
MLA Savita Mahato also pointed out that out of 4342 residential plots allocated, 1701 remain vacant. She questioned the government’s rehabilitation policy, specifically whether it includes provisions for employment for displaced individuals, but her query was rejected.
