Ranchi, Nov. 9: Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said that all necessary procedures should be completed in time to purchase and store paddy.
He said the mobile �daal bhat� scheme will be started from December this year. He directed the officials concerned to supply food grain to the beneficiaries and get the cost deducted from their bank accounts.
It will be a purely cashless transaction. People having no bank account should get it opened. Lepers and stone miners may face difficulty in getting food grain through biometric system. Hence Irish process biometric system should be managed for such people. The CM made the observation while reviewing the Public Distribution System in the state.
The CM said that the facilities should be increased for all the workers employed in food grain storage. Rest room and drinking water should be arranged for them and group insurance should be considered.
PDS Minister Saryu Rai said that modern storage systems are required for storing paddy. Kadru godown is being modernized. He said the CM had directed to make go-downs in different districts as per requirements. He also advised department officials to study PDS in Chhattisgarh and Tamil Nadu.
Chief Secretary Raj Bala Verma, Development Commissioner Amit Khare and Secretary Vinay Kumar Choubey were present in the meeting.
