Food Minister holds meeting with teachers, parents at Kadma

Jamshedpur, Oct 25: There is an urgent need to spread awareness among parents on education. They should provide school-like atmosphere to children even at home to improve their education. This was observed on Friday by the state food and civil supplies minister cum MLA of Jamshedpur West Saryu Roy during a meeting with the parents and teachers of all government schools of his constituency at Tata Workers Union High School in Kadma.

Roy said the community buildings situated in all slums of the city would be identified for setting up a study centre where children would study for at least two hours every day. This would provide school-like environment to the kids and benefit them.
Roy said if parents pay attention to their wards� education, the future of their families would improve. Women should oppose alcoholism so that it does not influence their kids� education adversely, he said.
Roy said improving the condition of government schools was important for putting reins on private schools. He said the poor condition of government schools had led private schools to act in a whimsical manner.
Roy said the state government was improving basic infrastructure of government schools. Every year, funds are provided to the schools, he said.
The meeting was attended by the district superintendent of education Vineet Kumar, Ram Prasad Mahato, SP Singh, headmasters of 43 schools, seven parents from each school and members of school education committees.
