Jamshedpur, Oct 25: Lok Samarpan president and Chief Minister�s son Lalit Das shared the joy of Deepawali with the underprivileged residents of Chhayanagar, Bhuiyandih, on Friday. He distributed gift hampers among 200 children and women on this occasion. The gift included diyas, oil, wicks, sweets and firecrackers.
Das visited the house of Mangri Devi, one of the residents, and lit a diya. He congratulated her family and other residents on Deepawali.
Earlier, members of Basti Vikas Samiti welcomed Lalit Das on his arrival.
Addressing the people, Das said Lok Samarpan worked for social welfare and his visit was an attempt to share the festive joy with them. Giving others a reason to smile is the essence of Deepawali, he said.
Others present during the programme included Neeraj Kumar, Gyan Singh, Deepak Singh, Subhash Mukhi, Dev Kumar, Ritesh Dutta, Arnav Kumar, Ankit Agrawal and Abhishek Agrawal.
