Colourful events mark Brahmanandam�s birth anniversary

Jamshedpur: The two day long birth anniversary celebrations of Brahmananda Shastri concluded with fanfare at Brahmaloka in Airbase Colony at Kadma on Tuesday. The programme started with Mangal Aarti at 6 am. A cake was cut at 10 am and distributed among the visitors.

A shobha yatra was also taken out from Voltas Building to Gopal Maidan roundabout. Many floats were taken out during the procession. A large number of people participated in the event. They included Radheshyam Agrawal, senior journalist, and Pawan Agrawal, representative of CM cum MLA of Jamshedpur East Raghubar Das.

Visitors from Kolkata, Cuttack, Kharagpur and Varanasi participated in the programme. The programmes were conducted by Monu Bindu Bhattacharya who was accompanied by Guru Mata Maa Purnima Devi. A bhajan programme was also held on the occasion. Hundreds of people were present during the event.

As a part of the celebrations, free treatment facility was provided to patients at Brahmananda Narayan Multispeciality Hospital and Purnima Netralaya Hospital.

A total of 21 patients suffering from cataract were operated on the occasion. More than 300 patients were provided free consultation facility at the OPD.

The doctors who gave free services at the OPD include Dr. Abdul Waheed Khan (Nephrologist), Dr. Arun kumar (Neuroscience), Dr. Perwaiz Alam (Sr. Cardiac surgeon), Dr. Abhay Krishna (Cardiologist), Dr. B Kumar (Cardiologist), Dr. A. Bandyopadhyay (General and Laparoscopic surgeon), Dr. D. Soren (General & Laparoscopic surgeon), Dr. Champai Soren (Urologist), Dr. Ashwani Jaiswal (General medicine) and Dr. Pankaj Gupta (Ped. Cardiology).
