Orders cleanliness drive in fringe areas, asks party workers to help administration
Jamshedpur: Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Saturday inspected several localities under Jamshedpur East Assembly constituency including Birsanagar, Bagunhatu and Sidhgora and interacted with residents on the issue of development and civic amenities. He inquired whether the citizens were getting the benefits of various government schemes and whether they had any issues related to basic civic amenities.
Talking to the residents, Das said the state government is committed to the development of Jharkhand with special focus on cleanliness and infrastructure development. He said his government was making sincere efforts to ensure the people reap the benefits of various welfare schemes.
Earlier, the CM went to several government schools and met the school management committee members and teachers to find out their grievances.
Various issues related to the improvement of infrastructure were discussed by the CM. The CM visited the school library and stressed on availability of books to school children. We have also been asked to ensured cleanliness on the campus, said one of the school officials.
The CM had some time back announced that all state-owned schools will have quality benches-desks by 2018 so that no students is compelled to study while sitting on the floor. Moreover, the corporate houses were also directed to make provision for quality desk and benches in state-owned schools in their CSR agenda. The district education department had submitted a list of schools which had fallen short of desks and benches and asked corporate houses including public sector units to provide the same to schools in their area of operation and include it in their CSR plans.
In the district there are around 1900 primary and medium schools which do not have adequate number of desks and benches. We had made a comprehensive list of schools, their names and areas for the convenience of corporate entities, noted an official.
The CM also spoke to BJP workers in Bagunhatu. He walked barefooted in Bagunahatu and Laxminagar and interacted with the common people. He asked party leaders to help the district administration carry out development work.
This is my home constituency. We need to ensure that the development work is carried out smoothly. However, if the party workers find any irregularities they can raise their voice, said Das.
The CM made it clear to the party workers that before creating uproar they must talk to the authorities concerned and if they are not satisfied they can raise their voices.
