Ranchi, August 27: Chief Minister Raghubar Das ordered departmental proceedings on 7 persons including former Chairman of JSEB S.N. Verma & Aalok Sharan, the then member (Finance) Alok Saran in connection with irregularities in the 20.87 crore rupees work by BHEL in 2012 on Swarnarekha Hydropower Project, Sikidiri Phase-1 & Phase-2.
He ordered to intimate the CBI with the three member committee investigation report to magnify criminal conspiracy. Moreover, the CM has ordered to blacklist NPEL, the company found irregular & irresponsible in the maintenance & repair of Sikidiri Hydropower Project.
Other accused in this case are G. N. S. Munda, retired Chief Engineer (G.T.O), D. N. Ram, Chief Engineer ( G.T.O), Jharkhand Nagar Urja Sancharan Limited, B. K. Choudhary, retired Project Manager, SRHP & Pravin Kumar, Executive Engineer, Electricity PTPS.
The Chief Minister said that there is no reason denying the JSEB, BHEL & NPEL officers’ involvement in this criminal conspiracy.
He said that the govt. will take strict action against officers involved in irregularities. It should be mentioned that the CBI is investigating various complaints regarding irregularities in Swarnarekha Hydropower Project & other projects in the light of High Court’s order vide CWJC no- 1793/2001 WP (PIL) No. 4611/2009 & WP (PIL) No. 2918/2010 on dated 28.03.2011.
The State govt. (with CEA) & the Auditor General of Jharkhand constituted a three member committee under the chairmanship of Finance Secretary Amit Khare to probe intensively the technical & financial aspects of maintenance & repair of Sikidiri Hydropower Project & Swarnarekha Hydropower Project, which was nominated by BHEL.
This committee included Principal Secretary, Energy Department. S.K. G. Rahate & Omprakash Ambasth, GM-cum-Chief Engineer , Electricity Supply Area , Ranchi.
It should be noted that Rs.59.75 crores were expensed on maintenance & repair of Sikidiri Hydropower Project & Swarnarekha Hydropower Project through BHEL on nomination basis.
