Ranchi, June 28: Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that strict action should be taken against land mafias encroaching forest land.
‘It has been decided unanimously that the rayyats dependent on forest land will get an increase of 7% to the rate fixed on specified wood produce in 2016. With this decision in effect, wood of 8 types of trees namely Saal, Sagwan, Bija Saag, Gamhar, Aasan, Karam, Salai and Khair specified under article 6 of Jharkhand Van Upaj Adhiniyam 1984 will be sold by the rayayts directly to the govt. and get the benefits’, said CM Das while addressing Jharkhand Van Upaj Salahkar Samiti at Jharkhand Bhawan in Ranchi on Wednesday.
Chairperson of the committee Raghubar Das further said that forest implies the forest life rather than only trees. Hence, ecological balance should be taken care of.
He went on to say that the committee should not only fix the rate of the forest produce but also put forth important issues related with forest animals. He said that the forest land should be cordoned for their comprehensive development. The committee members suggested rectifying the land category of some of the rayyats of Nagar Utari, Garhwa and Teliya block of Bagodar whose lands, in the survey, have been shown as forest lands instead of revenue.
The CM directed the Revenue dept. to probe into the matter, coordinating properly and rectify it on priority in the interest of the rayyats.
Chairperson of the committee CM Raghubar Das, vice chairman Vidyut Varan Mahto, MP, MLAs Jayprakash Singh Bhokta, Nagendra Mahto, Principal Sec to the CM Sanjay Kumar, Principal Chief Forester R.R. Hembrom, Principal Chief Forester–cum- MD, JSFDCL Dr. S. S. Gupta and other people were present in the meeting.
