CM meets VC of BIT Mesra

Ranchi: Vice chancellor of BIT Mesra Prof Manoj Kumar Mishra met Chief Minister Raghubar Das and discussed matters related to the institution.

In the meeting the VC of BIT Mesra urged the chief minister for renewal of registration till 2016, as the registration with the state government has ended in 2011. He also sought attention of the CM that registration for BIT Deoghar will lapse this year and therefore there is a need for renewal registration for the institution.

Prof Manoj Kumar Mishra also sought financial assistance for disbursement of dearness allowance, salary adjustments, maintenance of buildings and equipments.

The CM said that the present government is committed to improving the level of higher and technical education in Jharkhand. The government expects to get necessary assistance from BIT Mesra for this. The government would look into every issue taken up by the Institution and a meeting would be convened very soon to the effect, he said.

The BIT Mesra vice chancellor further said that as per registration guidelines BIT Mesra is providing 50 percent reservation in seats for students of Jharkhand.

The BIT Mesra is judiciously following the reservation rules of the state government while providing quality technical education to the students, he said. To carry forward the stated objective BIT Mesra has set up a campus at Deoghar with the assistance of the state government, he added.

Besides Prof Manoj Kumar Mishra, others including Dr AP Krishna, and SS Akhtar were also present in the meeting.
