Ranchi: Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that this year, a separate budget will be presented for SC and ST people on the lines of last year�s agriculture budget.
Das, who met Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram in New Delhi on Wednesday, said that with separate budget for the SC and ST people, their participation in the development of the state will be ensured and consequently their own development will ensue.
The CM discussed the recently passed CNT-SPT Amendment Act with the Union Minister and said that it will strengthen their grip on their land. He requested to distribute the pending funds of Vanbandhu Kalyan Kosh. He also requested to open Eklavya Ashram and give post matric scholarship which the Union Minister assured.
Das also met Union Environment Minister Anil Madhav Dave at Paryavaran Bhawan and requested him to give environmental clearance to the pending mining projects of Jharkhand.
He said that development work was affected because of clearance requests pending with the Environment Ministry. The applications should be approved soon, he said.
The Union Minister is learnt to have directed the Central and state government officials concerned to dispose the pending files on priority basis.
The State Principal Secretary for Environment Sukhdev Singh and Secretary to the CM Sunil Kumar Barnwal were present on the occasion.
