Ranchi, Nov. 29: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das will launch ‘Cashless Jharkhand’ campaign in the state on 2nd December from Nagri block, Ranchi.
The campaign will be launched simultaneously all over the state.
In a meeting with bank officials at Project Building here on Tuesday, the CM directed them to initiate the ‘Cashless Jharkhand’ campaign in full throttle.
He said that the campaign should be taken to the far-flung rural areas and that all government staff, aanganbari centres, sakhi mandals and businessmen should be connected with it.
“The businessmen should also promote cashless transaction. VAT has been waived on smart phones up to Rs 5,000 so that common people can buy smart phones for cashless tractions,” he said.
The banks will conduct camps in their respective branches for the account holders of the bank to download the mobile app for cashless transaction. People not having bank accounts can also download this app.
Those staying in far-off locations and villages can be connected with this campaign through panchayat secretariats. Students of all government and non-government colleges will be connected with this app.
The CM said the campaign will pay an important role in ensuring transparency in the system. It will be given the shape of a public movement.
Chief Secretary Raj Bala Verma, Additional CS Amit Khare, Principal Secretary to the CM Sanjay Kumar, Principal Secretary K K Khandelwal, Secretary Satendra Sinha and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
