Ranchi: The Jharkhand government CM Hemant Soren will honor the players and their coaches who have made the state proud by performing excellently at the international and national level with incentive money at Ranchi’s Khelgaon on Thursday. Prize money of Rs 48.30 lakh will be handed over to 52 coaches of 15 sports and Rs 4.50 crore will be handed over to 222 players of 19 sports.
It is worth mentioning here that the recipients of the honorarium include the players and their coaches who have represented the state in various national and international games including the Olympic Games and have won gold, silver and bronze medals in the competitions. The maximum number of awardees includes 55 football players, 39 hockey players, 24 Wushu, 23 archery, 17 taekondo, 13 wrestling, 11 lawn ball, 11 athletes and a total of 222 players from other sports. .
On the instructions of CM, under Jharkhand Sports Policy-2022, those players of the state who have won medals in sports recognized by National, International and Olympic Association. A provision has been made to increase the honorarium received by them. Apart from this, by issuing the Road Guide 2022 regarding providing honorarium to Jharkhand players, the honorarium given to them was increased so that the spirit of competition is awakened among the players and they are also encouraged for excellent performance.
