Hemant Soren Takes Monsoon Drive to Jonha Falls, Showcases Jharkhand’s Scenic Charm in Viral Reel

Ranchi: Taking a break from his official schedule, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren enjoyed a relaxed Sunday drive to the picturesque Jonha Falls, located about 50 km from the capital city, to celebrate the state’s breathtaking monsoon beauty.

His wife and Gandey MLA, Kalpana Soren, accompanied him on the scenic getaway.

The Chief Minister shared videos and photographs of the journey on social media, capturing rain-swept landscapes along the route. The visuals, which feature Soren behind the wheel and humming along to music, quickly gained traction online.

Interacting with Locals and Promoting Eco-Tourism

Upon reaching Jonha Falls—one of Jharkhand’s signature tourist hotspots—Soren spent time in the lush valleys, interacting with visiting tourists and local residents, and relishing seasonal fruits sold by local vendors.

Reflecting on his journey, the Chief Minister posted an update on social media:

“Today, I had the opportunity to spend a few moments amidst the lush valleys of Jonha Falls, located just a short distance from Ranchi. The pristine streams flowing in the lap of nature, the greenery of dense forests, and the serene beauty of the mountains repeatedly remind us that Jharkhand is nature’s unparalleled gift. This is our shared heritage, which we all have the collective responsibility to preserve and protect.”

“No matter which corner of Jharkhand you visit, nature will welcome you in its varied hues. A hearty welcome to all tourists on this unparalleled land of Jharkhand, Johar,” he added.

Viral Reel Celebrates Regional Pride

The highlight of Soren’s social media outreach was a highly shared reel from the falls, set to the popular regional track “Hamar Sona Jharkhand, Hamar Heera Jharkhand” (Our Golden Jharkhand, Our Diamond Jharkhand).

In the video, Soren gestures to the landscape and asks viewers, “How does it feel? These forests, these valleys — this is our Jharkhand.” He captioned the reel, noting that in the state, “forests are life, waterfalls are music.”
