CM announces Rs 2 lakh insurance cover for the treatment of critical diseases

Ranchi, June 6: Chief Minister Raghubar Das today announced Rs two lakh medical insurance cover for the people of Jharkhand.

Government of Jharkhand will provide Rs. two lakh insurance cover for the treatment of critical diseases & Rs 50 thousand as insurance cover for common ailments. Premium amount will be borne by the state government. Able people will get this facility on low premium. Das was addressing a function organized by health, medical education and family welfare department at Namkum, Ranchi.

7 Nursing College will be opened in the state during this FY to meet the shortage of nurses in Jharkhand. Tribal women will be given training in nursing & employment as well further added the CM.

While giving appointment letters to 145 specialist doctors CM admitted the shortage of Doctors in the state. He said � Jharkhand government has initiated steps to meet the shortage of doctors.

Das said State government is upgrading the district hospitals with latest equipments. Within 45 days dialysis facility will be available in eight districts of the state, where B.P.L. families & people having 72 thousand income PA will get free dialysis facility. Within coming 6 months this facility will be available in all district hospitals of the state, added the CM.

Transparent and corruption-free governance is our commitment, said Das. He said � State government is launching e-medicine for online tracking of state wide purchase/distribution/consumption of medicine, vaccine, Surgical equipment etc.

CM further addressed the Ayush Therapy , he said- to promote Ayush Therapy state government has set up separate Directorate.

CM said, to tackle malnutrition the state government has taken initiative and in the first phase nutritious food, vaccines, etc. will be distributed among pregnant women& children in 12 districts by medical vehicle. He called upon the rich people of the society to feed malnourished children with nutritious diet and God will be pleased with their service.

While distributing appointment letters to multi-purpose workers CM asked them to work with honesty to make leprosy, malaria and kalajar free Jharkhand. CM announced wage increment of M.P.W. from 6 thousand to 15,301 rupees.Soon foundation stone of cancer hospital at Brambe and Medical Colleges at Dumka, Daltonganj and Hazaribagh will be laid ,said Mr. Das .

During the function CM launched online drug licence portal and inaugurated buildings of Health Directorate &AyushDirectorate.CM launched free Napkin distribution scheme christened as �SAKHI� to ensure the presence of adolescent girls in schools during the function. Students of Class 6-12 of the government and government-aided schools will be beneficiaries of this scheme.

Ram Chandra Chandravanshi, Health Minister, Ramtahal Choudhary, M.P. Ram Kumar Pahan, M.L.A, K. VidyaSagar ,Addl. Chief Secretary, Health Department and other dignitaries graced the occasion.
