CM announces Rs 10 lakh compensation for kin of martyred cops

Simdega: Chief Minister Raghubar Das announced an ex gratia compensation of Rs 10 lakh each to the next of kin of the two policemen, police sub inspector Bano Vidyapati Singh and constableTuram Biruli, killed in an encounter with Naxalites in Simdega on Sunday.

“The sacrifices made by our brave cops will not go waste. State government stands in solidarity with the aggrieved families,” said the CM in a statement issued here today.

In view of the announcement made by the CM, the deputy commissioner of Simdega Manjunath Bhajantri handed cheques of Rs 10 lakh each to DSP Pradip Oraon and directed him to given the same to the next of kin of the deceased cops.

Officials said the next of kin of the deceased cops will be given the entire amount of salary for their remaining service period.

The expenses of education of the deceased cops’ children will also be borne by the government. One member in each family would get a government job, officials said.
