Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Mahanagar unit of Bharatiya Janata Party is gearing up to celebrate the foundation day of the party in a grand manner.
Party has also decided to celebrate the birth anniversary of Baba Saheb Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar on 14th April. The day will be observed as ‘Samrasta Diwas’ (Harmony Day), party officials said.
The decision to organize foundation day and pay tributes to Dr Ambedkar was taken at a meeting convened today by the district president of the party Dinesh Kumar.
Addressing party workers, Kumar said the party’s foundation day could not be celebrated on 6th April last due to Ramnavami celebrations in the city. The foundation day and Ambedkar Jayanti will be celebrated throughout the fortnight from 14th April onwards, he said.
At the meeting, it was unanimously decided to celebrate Dr Ambedkar’s birth anniversary with the residents of Harijan Busti at Burmamines. A khichdi feast will also be organized on the occasion. All party members and activists have been invited to join the feast, Kumar said.
During the meeting attended by many senior party functionaries, Kumar pointed out the issue of discipline and fissures within the party. He said that strict action will be taken against party members leaking internal matters outside the organization.
