Jamshedpur, July 7: Classic Eight Sporting Club returned to winning ways with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Andhra Sporting Union in the Premier Division match of the JSA Football League at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on Tuesday.
After a goalless first half, Makku Hansda opened the scoring in the 47th minute to give Classic Eight the lead. Sunil Munda doubled the advantage in the 63rd minute as Classic Eight maintained control throughout the second half to secure all three points with a disciplined performance.
PRMF outclass New Boy’s Club 4-1
In the Super Division match at Gopal Maidan, Pandit Raghunath Memorial Foundation (PRMF) registered a dominant 4-1 win over New Boy’s Club.
Dukhuram Murmu gave PRMF an early lead in the 11th minute before Anil Murmu made it 2-0 midway through the first half. Shekhar Murmu added the third goal in the 39th minute, putting the team firmly in command. Dilip Singh scored the fourth goal in the 80th minute, while Suresh Murmu netted a late consolation goal for New Boy’s Club in the 83rd minute.
Katin FC and Aruna Samity record big wins
In the A Division Group A match, Katin Football Club defeated Sidhu Kanhu Festival Association 5-2 after producing an outstanding second-half display. Suraj Soren starred with four goals in the 33rd, 54th, 59th and 67th minutes, while Mahendra Singh added another in stoppage time. Sidhu Kanhu Festival Association had earlier scored through Simal Tudu and Sunil Murmu.
In the Group B fixture at Telco Ground, Aruna Samity Club cruised to a convincing 4-0 victory over Ambedkar Football Club. Preet Sona scored twice in the 11th and 65th minutes, while Abhay Mukhi also struck a brace in the 55th and 63rd minutes to complete an emphatic win.
