Citizens voice concerns, Jamshedpur DC assures timely action

Jamshedpur: In a continuing effort to promote transparency and resolve public issues promptly, Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi on Friday heard grievances of citizens during the Jan Grievance Redressal Day held at his office. The event witnessed a steady flow of applicants presenting both personal and community-level problems, ranging from legal issues to welfare entitlements.

Several complaints were addressed on the spot, while the remaining were forwarded to concerned departments with instructions for prompt investigation and necessary action. The Deputy Commissioner reiterated that every application would be dealt with seriousness and that follow-ups would be ensured to prevent any undue delay in resolution.

Among the issues raised were allegations of fraud and mental harassment by a builder, unauthorized shop lockouts by Tata Steel, and notices related to construction on forest land. Citizens also submitted applications related to arms licenses, Ayushman card generation, search for missing persons, medical aid, and family and land disputes. Some residents also requested cancellation of approved PM Awas Yojana housing due to changed circumstances, while others sought help in accessing welfare schemes.

Stressing on administrative sensitivity, the Deputy Commissioner instructed officials to remain responsive to public needs. “Public interest matters must be addressed with both urgency and empathy. The goal of Jan Grievance Redressal Day is not just to record complaints, but to restore faith in governance through meaningful action,” he said.

He further added that the district administration remains fully committed to ensuring open communication between citizens and government offices, and that grievance redressal is a key pillar of accountable governance.
