Chumru Purty passes away

Jamshedpur: Renowned tribal leader and social worker Chumru Purty, resident of Birsanagarnagar, passed away at the age of 85 late Friday evening. He was cremated on Saturday in Tantnagar (West Singhbhum) following the Ho tribes� traditions. He was admitted to Tata Main Hospital on Thursday. He is survived by a joint family comprising three sons who include Santosh Purty. Many tribal leaders of the city have expressed grief over Purty�s death. Those present during the cremation included Pal Singh Munda, Basant Oraon, Prakash Koya and Babu Nag.
