Jamshedpur, Dec 3: Chinmaya Vidyalaya South Park hosted its 22nd Sports Festival, an event that showcased the students’ athletic talents and team spirit. The program began with a recital of the Ganesh Panchratna Stotra, invoking blessings for success and harmony. Dr. Anand Prabhakaran, Head of Industrial Tribology at Tata Steel, attended as the chief guest, lending his support and encouragement to the young participants.
The highlight of the event was the spectacular drill performance by students from classes 1 to 8. The drill, inspired by Olympic sports activities, reflected the energy and coordination of the young athletes. A colorful and disciplined march past by the school’s four houses—Alaknanda, Bhagirathi, Mandakini, and Jahnavi—added grandeur to the celebration. Jahnavi House stood out, winning the Best March Past Trophy.
Individual excellence was celebrated through several awards. Aniket Yadav was recognized as the Best Volleyball Player (Senior), while Dhananjay Hansda and Rudra Pratap Singh were declared the Best Football Players in the senior and junior categories, respectively. The Best Athlete (Girls) title went to Naba Aftab, and Ryan Aftab was honored as the Best Athlete (Boys). Among seniors, Ayush Mandal and Shruti Gupta emerged as the Best Athletes in the boys’ and girls’ categories, respectively. The students of classes 4, 5, and 6 won the Best Drill award for their impressive “Circle of Unity” performance.
The overall championship trophy was also bagged by Jahnavi House, marking their remarkable performance throughout the event.
The event was attended by members of the School Management Committee, teachers, parents, and students, creating a vibrant and supportive atmosphere. Sports teacher Pano Mardi played a pivotal role in organizing the festival, with his efforts being highly commended by all present.
The 22nd Sports Festival was a celebration of teamwork, discipline, and excellence, leaving participants and spectators inspired.
