Children spread cleanliness message through wall painting in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Feb 6:  Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) has launched several initiatives to promote public awareness in cleanliness and hygiene under the Swachh Sarvekshan – 2022.

Initially, participants presented their paintings online and the top three among them were invited to the JNAC office and asked to do wall paintings. The students of St. Robert’s High School and a team of Young Udaan participated and displayed their fine art on the walls of JNAC. The basic aim of this wall painting endeavor is to make citizens aware of the need for cleanliness.

The wall painting contest was organized under the slogan of cleanliness and hygiene. Children of Group A from St Robert’s High School, Parsudih comprising Alisha Soren, Pallavi Bala, Sister Hansda, Kasturi Sinku won the first prize while the second prize went to the Group B team that included Neeta Mahto, Amrita Mahto, Monika Sardar and Suman Mishra. got second place. The Young Udaan team was placed third in the wall painting competition.

JNAC Special Officer, Krishna Kumar, in the course of his address said that children were the future of the country. He said, “If children are made aware of social responsibility, they can make their families aware. The wall painting competition was organized among children through which, the concern for cleanliness and hygiene among citizens could be created. The wall paintings by children stimulate in them to express their feelings and concepts. This factor was considered while organizing the contest. We gave them the theme of cleanliness and the children did magnificent jobs.”
