Chaibasa, March 11: A three month old child received burn wound on its leg when an oil lamp fell from a shelf. According to reports, the MO of Jagganathpur Hospital Dr Shushanyo Kumar Majhi informed that the child had received 30 percent burn injuries on its leg. The child is under treatment.
The incident occurred early morning in Kudahatu village under Jagganathpur Block of West Singhbhum district.
The father of the child Magyi Tiriya said that around 5:30 am, the power supply was cut and so an oil lamp was lit. the child�s mother had gone to a nearby pond for ablution while he left for the fields. When the child�s mother returned she found that the oil lamp had fallen on the child and its clothing had caught fire. She immediately doused the flames with a blanket.
