Chaibasa: On Tuesday morning, one child died after being hit by a truck near Bada Tholco of Pandrashali OP area of West Singhbhum district, while two children were seriously injured. The mishap took place when a truck was going from Chaibasa towards Seraikela at a high speed.
Twelve-year-old Durga Lohar, a resident of Chhota Tholco, died on the spot, while two children of Bhoiya were seriously injured due to the speeding truck. After the incident, the truck driver and Khalasi escaped leaving the truck there. Police rushed to the spot and seized the truck. The injured were rushed to the local hospital for treatment, from where Jamshedpur was referred to TMH after first aid for better treatment.
After the incident, angry people blocked the Chaibasa-Saraikela mainway for about two hours. On receiving the news of road jam, DSP Arvind Pandey and Mufasil Police Station Incharge and Seraikela Police reached the spot and persuaded people and removed them from the road.
