Contract labourers demonstrate at ACC plant

Chaibasa: After the death of a contract labourer, Sukra Gop, at the Jhekpani ACC Cement plant located at Jhikpani Block Headquarters in West Singhbhum district on Tuesday, relatives of the deceased and other contract laborers jammed the gate of the ACC Cement Plant. After the post-mortem on Tuesday, all the contract laborers rushed towards the ACC Cement Company, although they were stopped by the police even before the plant reached the gate. The workers sat near the road and started shouting slogans. Significantly, on Monday, a laborer was killed in a cement plant. The workers are shouting slogans against ACC management during the protest demonstration. The workers allege that Sukra Gop, a contract laborer, died in the plant due to the negligence of the management of Jhinkpani ACC cement plant.
