Chief Secretary reviews preparations for Independence Day


Ranchi, August 1: Jharkhand Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma today held a high level review meeting regarding the preparations for the Independence Day. During the meeting, she directed best preparations should be made for the functions at Ranchi and Dumka. She said the purpose or organising events prior to the Independence Day is to ensure more participation of the school children and instill in them the feelings of nationalism and patriotism.

Verma said, for singing the national anthem during the function best groups should be selected among the district and also asked to make arrangement for high quality sound equipment’s for the venue alongwith alternative arrangements also arrangements of generators be made at the spot.
The CS asked to fix responsibility and said proper arrangements be made for sitting and parking area so the people coming to the event do not face any problems. She said adequate number of signage be also erected on the spot also asked the officials to felicitate the freedom fighters in their respective areas and appoint a nodal officer who would be responsible for making all arrangements for the freedom fighters.

Verma asked the officials to take self initiative so that people in large numbers can visit the function and also directed to make sure that the national flag was hoisted at all government buildings and also at all the schools. She said that at the prominent spots of the city patriotic songs be played through loud speakers couple of days earlier than the Independence Day.

Verma said that apart from government organisations people of the city should be encouraged to keep their homes and surrounding clean. She said, statues of the prominent people be decorated in the state and also garland their statue on the Independence Day and directed to accord special focus for arrangements of cleanliness, drinking water, power and transport facilities. She said, for the benefit of the people the route chart for the people should be prepared so that no problem is faced in travelling. She also directed that a team of doctors be also present at the spot.

The CS said during the parade a contingent of Chattissgarh Police would also be participating in the parade. Those present in the meeting including principal secretary of home SKG Rahate, cabinet secretary SS Meena, secretary of school education Aradhana Patnaik and others.
