Jamshedpur, Oct 24: As the holy festival of Chhath Mahaparv approaches, the Tatanagar railway station has transformed into a hub of devotion and cultural celebration.
The railways have started playing traditional Chhath songs at the station premises, filling the air with the divine melody of faith and festivity.
Passengers and daily commuters at Tatanagar are being greeted with soulful Bhojpuri devotional tracks like “Mangi La Hum Vardan Hey Ganga Maiya,” “Kaune Khet Janmal Dhan Sudhan Ho,” and “Kelwa Ke Paat Par Ugelen Surujdev.”
The move has added a vibrant festive touch to the railway environment, evoking the deep-rooted cultural essence of Bihar and Jharkhand during the Chhath season.
Railway officials said the initiative is part of their special festive arrangements to spread joy and cultural awareness among travelers.
“Chhath Puja is not just a festival but an emotion for millions. Through these devotional songs, we want passengers to feel connected with the spirit of the occasion,” said a senior railway official at Tatanagar station.
The station premises have also been adorned with cleanliness drives and decorations ahead of the festival, while announcements and songs dedicated to Chhathi Maiya continue to echo across platforms — creating a heartwarming atmosphere for devotees travelling home to celebrate the sacred festival of the Sun God and Chhathi Maiya.
