Jamshedpur: Hundreds of residents of Chandil organized �Janakrosh Rally�, a march on foot to demand basic civic amenities, especially water and electricity supply, on Friday.
The rally started at Chandil bus stand and moved through the town before reaching the electricity and water supply department offices. Almost all panchayat representatives and social activists of the area participated in the rally.
Raising slogans against the district administration, the protestors alleged that their pleas for uninterrupted supply of electricity and water had gone unheard despite repeated reminders to the officials concerned.
Rajesh pasari, one of the protestors and convenor of Marwari Sammelan, Chandil branch, said there was no electricity and water in Chandil for the last 120 hours.
Among those present during the rally included Naveen Pansari, Manoj Rai, Arun Kumar Bagaria, Sujit Hansda, Ratnakar Khaitan, Nandita Chakravarty, Jia Sultana and Sadaul Haq.
