Ranchi, April 23: In a significant development, Bishunpur MLA Chamra Linda of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has remained resolute in his decision to contest the Lohardaga parliamentary seat independently. Despite extensive persuasion efforts by the party, Linda stands firm and is scheduled to file his nomination papers as an independent candidate on April 24.

Reports suggest that Linda’s decision stems from discontent within the party, prompting him to defy party directives and pursue an independent candidacy. Despite the deployment of senior party leaders, including Deepak Biruwa, to dissuade him, Linda remains steadfast in his resolve.

Scheduled for 11:00 am on April 24, Linda’s nomination filing is poised to intensify the electoral dynamics in Lohardaga. His independent candidacy poses a formidable challenge to India Alliance candidate Sukhdev Bhagat’s electoral prospects in the constituency. Notably, Linda’s pivotal role in previous electoral victories against the Congress in 2009 and 2014 underscores his significance in shaping the electoral landscape.
