Seraikela, May 22: Jharkhand Minister for Tribal Welfare and Transport, Champai Soren inaugurated the newly constructed old age home at Sahibganj in Saraikela on Monday, May 22. DC Arava Rajkamal, DDC Praveen kumar Gagrai, DSWO Shipra Sinha and other district administration officials were present on the occasion.
It may be mentioned tghat the old age home will be rung by NGO FURIDA. Separate arrangements comprising 25 beds each for women and men have been made at this home. The current 50 bed capacity old age home may be enhanced in future.
After the inauguration, NGO FURIDA official, Bhaskar Kumar took Minister Champai Soren and the other dignitaries around the building and explained about the facilities and other arrangements provided for the senior citizens. The elderly residents of the Home greeted Jharkhand Minister Champai Soren, DC Arava Rajkamal and the other district officials with bouquets. The Minister and Deputy Commissioner presented gift packets, sarees and dresses of daily use to the residents of the newly inaugurated old age home. Later, Minister Champai Soren, Deputy Commissioner, Deputy Development Commissioner and other officials had lunch at the same table with the elederly residents. Champai Soren, in an emotional observation said, “Today this Senior Citizens Home has been inaugurated at Sahibganj village. Every resident here is our guardian and it is our inherent responsibility to look after them with care, love and affection. Personally, I do not know any of these elders here but they have blessed and I have taken their blessings as given by my parents. We are no different. We have to work and ensure that they do not face any kind of problems, that they are provided with all necessary facilities and, above all, they should never feel lonely. We should endeavor to provide them a family like environment.”
