Jamshedpur: District BJP spokesperson Ankit Anand condemned the alleged banning of Chhath celebration by the Seraikela MLA Champai Soren in his native village Jilinggora at Gamharia on Monday. In a statement issued here today, Anand accused the JMM leader of descending into ‘cheap politics’ based on communal hatred and bigotry. The BJP spokesperson said the MLA was trying to misguide the villagers and foment communal discord through his statements on the holy festival of Chhath. Likening Soren to Aurangzeb, he said the JMM leader will have to pay dearly in the elections.
