Chamber president complains against ASI

Jamshedpur: The president of Jamshedpur Chamber of Commerce Mohanlal Agrawal has complained to the senior superintendent of police (SSP), East Singhbhum, Amol Venukant Homkar, against the assistant sub inspector (ASI) of Jadugora police station Sushil Danga and demanded departmental action against them.

In his letter mailed to the SSP today, Agrawal alleged that Danga was acting whimsically and harassing local people, especially businessmen. He said Danga had threatened to implicate many people in case they did not comply with his diktats.

Agrawal said Danga had extorted Rs 2000 from a girl in Jadugora in case of lodging an FIR and later did not seek warrant against the accused persons even after expiration of eight months.

The ASI has been issuing threats to innocent people and demanding bribe to lodge complaints. He is not only implicating people but also tampering with the authenticity of complaints for the sake of money. This is a serious issue and should be looked into immediately by the senior police officers, Agrawal said.

The Chamber members said they will be taking up the matter with senior authorities of the state government in case no action was taken against the accused cop.
