Chaibasa Rath Yatra draws thousands of devotees

Chaibasa, June 20: The town of Chaibasa came alive today as the auspicious Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath, accompanied by his beloved siblings Balabhadra and Subhadra, unfolded with great fervor. The air was thick with devotion as thousands of devotees congregated to pull the magnificent chariot of Lord Jagannath through the streets of the town, marking the commencement of this grand religious event.

The procession commenced at the Sadar Bazar Jagannath Temple, where the three divine deities were meticulously placed on their ornate chariot. With the rhythmic beating of drums and the enchanting sound of devotional chants, the devotees set off on a spiritual journey, guided by their faith in Lord Jagannath.

The route of the Rath Yatra traversed through the heart of Chaibasa, meandering its way from Sadar Bazar Jagannath Temple to Rungta Chowk, Amala Tola. The enthusiastic devotees, filled with divine zeal, tirelessly pulled the chariot, invoking the blessings of Lord Jagannath. The procession gracefully continued its course, slowly making its way to the Durga Temple Complex. There, Lord Jagannath will stay for nine days, granting devotees the opportunity to bask in his divine presence and seek his blessings. The atmosphere within the temple complex is expected to be charged with spiritual energy as countless devotees partake in various religious rituals and offer their heartfelt prayers. After the serene interlude at Mausi Bari, the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath will resume on the 28th of June, marking its journey back to the Jagannath Temple at Sadar Bazar. The return leg of the procession promises to be equally captivating, as devotees, united in their devotion, escort Lord Jagannath’s chariot back to its sacred abode.
