Veteran journalist takes charge, vows to serve with dedication
Jamshedpur, March 21: The Central Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (CGPC) has appointed Charanjeet Singh, a resident of Khasmahal, as its new spokesperson. The decision was taken during a core committee meeting held on Saturday presided over by President Bhagwan Singh.
Following the meeting, Charanjeet Singh was formally honored at the CGPC headquarters. President Bhagwan Singh and General Secretary Gurcharan Singh Billa felicitated him, marking the beginning of his new responsibility.

Speaking on the occasion, President Bhagwan Singh expressed full confidence in Charanjeet Singh’s ability to effectively handle the role. He said that with his honesty, dedication, and spirit of service, Charanjeet Singh would play an important part in sharing information about the Committee’s activities, religious services, and welfare initiatives with the Sangat through media platforms and newspapers.
He further stated that the Committee’s aim is not only to serve society but also to ensure that these efforts reach a wider audience. By doing so, more people can be inspired to join the mission of “Sarbat Da Bhala,” which emphasizes the welfare of all. He added that through this new responsibility, the Committee’s work related to the Guru Ghar, social service, and humanitarian efforts would reach more households in an effective manner.
Offering prayers, Bhagwan Singh he hoped that, with the blessings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Charanjeet Singh would carry out his duties with enthusiasm and dedication, and contribute to taking the Committee to greater heights.
General Secretary Amarjit Singh and Gurcharan Singh Billa highlighted Charanjeet Singh’s long experience in journalism, noting that he has been active in the field for over 20 years. They said his experience and understanding of society would be valuable in his new role within the Sikh community.
Accepting the responsibility, Charanjeet Singh thanked the Committee and assured that he would perform his duties sincerely while following established traditions.
Several members, including Senior Vice President Sukhwinder Singh Raju, Parvinder Singh Sohal, Surender Singh Shinde, Jaswant Singh Jassu, Sukhdev Singh Bittu, Treasurer Gurnam Singh Bedi, and Sarabjit Singh Grewal, were present and congratulated him on his appointment.
