Jugsalai Launches Three-Day Training for First Phase of Census 2027

Jamshedpur: Executive Officer Sandeep Paswan inaugurated a three-day training intensive for enumerators and supervisors on Monday under the Jugsalai Municipal Council. The programme marks the beginning of regional preparations for the first phase of Census 2027, which focuses on House Listing and Housing Census (HLO) fieldwork.

Equipping Field Personnel for Digital Data Collection

The training aims to standardize data collection across the municipality, ensuring field personnel are proficient in the systemic requirements of the nationwide exercise. Field trainers Manoj Kumar Pandey and Keshav Kumar are leading the sessions, which cover:

• HLO Procedures: Methods for systematic house listing and identifying residential and commercial units.
• Digital Protocols: Training on mobile-based data entry and handling protocols to ensure accuracy in the first-ever digital census.
• Field Guidelines: Instruction on public interaction and data privacy standards.

Official Oversight and Support

During the inaugural session, Mujahiddin Ansari (Additional District Census Officer and District Statistical Officer, East Singhbhum) and Master Trainer Dilip Kumar visited the center. They urged the participants to execute their duties with precision, emphasizing that the HLO phase forms the bedrock for the subsequent population enumeration.

The programme operates under the coordination of Assistant Teacher Harendra Kumar. Other key officials in attendance included City Manager-cum-Assistant Charge Officer Rajendra Kumar, along with Amarendra Kumar and Prabodh Kumar Pathak.

Phase I Timeline: Jharkhand

In line with the national schedule, Phase I (House Listing) is slated to take place between April and September 2026 across various states. In Jharkhand, the 30-day house listing window is scheduled for May 16 to June 14, 2026, preceded by a 15-day window for citizen self-enumeration starting May 1. This training ensures that Jugsalai’s local team is fully prepared ahead of the May fieldwork launch.
