Celebration of Artistic Talent at Rabindra Bhawan Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur : Rabindra Bhavan in Sakchi, a hub for budding talent in art and culture, became a proud witness to the recognition of artistic excellence. The venue hosted the All Jharkhand Music Competition from November 30 to December 8, 2024, showcasing the dedication and skill of 408 participants across various disciplines such as music, dance, instrumental performance, and singing.

The nine-day event featured competitions in poetry recitation, Rabindra Sangeet, guitar, Kathak dance, Bharatanatyam, and Hindustani classical music. Talented participants from across Jharkhand, including Chaibasa, Jamtara, Dhanbad, and Ghatshila, competed, with age groups ranging from 5 to over 16 years.

The competition provided a platform for aspiring artists to gain recognition and satisfaction through their performances. The event began with a welcome song by students from the Tagore School of Arts, followed by a welcome speech by Dr. H.S. Paul, President of Tagore Society.

During the prize distribution ceremony, Tagore Society General Secretary Ashish Chaudhary shared an overview of the event. He explained that the annual competition, initiated in 2011, aims to offer artists from all districts of Jharkhand an opportunity to showcase their talent. He described the event as a gift from the Tagore Society to emerging artists, emphasizing the organization’s mission to provide them with a rightful place in society and to ensure the continuous flow of art and culture.

Ayush Mitra and Anidipa Manna, who won the Overall Championship title, were the highlights of the event. The chief guest, Dhalbhum SDO Shatabdi Majumdar, felicitated the winners and remarked on the importance of art in society. She stated, “A great artist serves as a source of energy for the community, inspiring positive growth and direction.”

A special one-hour performance by the first-place winners captivated the audience with their exceptional talent. The prize distribution ceremony was skillfully hosted by Sanhita Lahiri, leaving an indelible impression of the vibrant cultural spirit of Jharkhand.
