CCTV, drones to monitor Eid-ul-Milad procession in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: Monitoring of the upcoming Eid-ul-Milad procession will be carried out through CCTV cameras and drones, with an adequate number of police forces deployed across the city. Officials confirmed that if additional deployment is required, necessary steps will be taken immediately. Station in-charges have been directed to ensure strict compliance with the Supreme Court’s order regarding DJ systems and to maintain round-the-clock surveillance along the procession route.

These measures were finalized during a high-level meeting on law and order held in the Collectorate Auditorium under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi. The meeting was attended by Rural SP Rishabh Garg, City SP Kumar Shivashish, ADM Law and Order Bhagirath Prasad, Deputy Municipal Commissioner JNAC Krishna Kumar, SDO Dhalbhum Chandrajit Singh, District PRO Panchanan Oraon, along with all DSPs, BDOs, COs, and police station in-charges of urban areas.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed that the civic authorities must ensure uninterrupted civic amenities such as drinking water, electricity supply, and cleanliness throughout the festive period. Proper barricading should be arranged wherever necessary, and officials must remain alert to take immediate action against any anti-social elements. He also instructed Zonal Officers and police station in-charges to hold meetings with the festival organizing committees at the local level, making them aware of the district administration’s guidelines and the collective responsibility to maintain peace.

Highlighting the importance of vigilance, the Deputy Commissioner directed that sensitive spots across the city should be kept under special watch, with magistrates, senior police officers, and adequate forces on duty. He further emphasized that processions must strictly follow the approved route without any diversions. “It is our collective duty to ensure that no one’s religious sentiments are hurt. Every festival in this district must be celebrated in a harmonious and peaceful atmosphere so that Jamshedpur sets an example for other districts,” he said.

Both the Rural and City SPs assured full readiness of the police force. They said all necessary arrangements, including CCTV and drone monitoring, had been planned to ensure the procession passes off smoothly. They also reiterated that strict action would be taken against any violation of the Supreme Court’s order regarding DJs and noise levels. Station in-charges have been told to keep the procession route under surveillance and ensure quick response to any untoward incident.

The meeting concluded with a call for cooperation among citizens, community leaders, and administrative bodies to make the festival a symbol of unity and peace. Officials underlined that coordination between police, civic bodies, and citizens would play a vital role in ensuring that Eid-ul-Milad is celebrated in a secure and harmonious environment, preserving the district’s reputation for peace and good governance.
